Hook Lane

Street guide, Pagham

An old lane running south-east from Pagham village towards the harbour shore. Hook Lane is one of the historic routes in the parish, connecting the settlement to the waterside. The lane has a mix of older cottages and bungalows, becoming more rural as it approaches the harbour edge. Walkers use Hook Lane to access the harbour footpath network and the circular walks around Pagham Harbour. The lane narrows near its southern end and can flood during very high tides. The transition from village housing to open harbour landscape is one of the distinctive features of this route.
