Pagham Village
Historic village core around the medieval church, The Lamb Inn and flint-walled lanes
The historic core of Pagham, centred on the medieval church of St Thomas a Becket and The Lamb Inn. The village proper sits along Church Lane and the roads radiating from it, with flint-walled cottages, mature gardens and a quiet, rural atmosphere. The churchyard is one of the oldest parts of the settlement, and the surrounding lanes retain something of the agricultural village that Pagham was for centuries before modern housing arrived. The Lamb Inn serves as the social heart of the village, and the village hall on Pagham Road hosts community events, meetings and local groups. This is the part of Pagham that feels most connected to the past, with its narrow lanes, its flint walls and its views across open fields towards the harbour. Properties here tend to be older and more characterful than elsewhere in the parish.
