Hook Lane Area
Older lane running from the village towards the harbour with a mix of cottages and bungalows
The area around Hook Lane, which runs south-east from the village towards the harbour and the coast. Hook Lane is one of the older routes in Pagham, connecting the village core to the harbour shore. Properties along the lane are a mix of older cottages, bungalows and some newer houses. The lane narrows as it approaches the harbour edge, and the landscape opens out into the flat, marshy ground that borders the nature reserve. Walkers use Hook Lane as an access route to the harbour footpaths and the circular walks around Pagham Harbour. The area has a transitional character, moving from settled village housing to the wilder fringes of the harbour in the space of a few hundred metres.
